Sizzling Summer Grilling: Delicious Recipes for your Backyard Cookout

July is National Grilling month, making it the perfect time to fire up the grill and enjoy some mouthwatering dishes to enjoy with family and friends!  Whether you’re a seasoned grill master or a novice looking to impress, these recipes are sure to elevate your backyard cookout.  From juicy burgers to smoky vegetables, we’ve got you covered. 

Classic Hamburger

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Your favorite toppings (lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, onions, etc…)

Instructions: 

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. 
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.  Season both sides with salt and pepper. 
  3. Rill the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness.  Adjust the time for your preferred level of doneness. 
  4. Toast the buns on the grill for about 1 minute. 
  5. Assemble your burgers with your favorite toppings and serve immediately!

Grilled Chicken

Ingredients: 

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (or make your own!)
  • Salt & pepper to taste 

Instructions: 

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat. 
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. 
  3. Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.  
  4. Brush the BBQ sauce on the chicken during the last 2 minutes of grilling. 
  5. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving. 

Smokey Grilled Vegetables

Ingredients:  

  • 2 red peppers 
  • 3 corn on the cobs, sliced 
  • 1 zucchini, sliced 
  • 1 red onion, sliced 
  • 1 eggplant, sliced 
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced 
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions: 

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. 
  2. Toss the sliced vegetables with olive oil, salt, and pepper. 
  3. Place the vegetables in a grill basket or directly on the grill grates. 
  4. Grill for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and slightly charred.  
  5. Serve as a side dish or add to a salad!

Grilled Pineapple Dessert

Ingredients:  

  • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and sliced into rings 
  • 2 tbsp honey 
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat
  2. In a small bowl, mix the honey and cinnamon.  
  3. Brush the pineapple slices with the honey mixture. 
  4. Grill the pineapple for 2-3 minutes on each side, until caramelized and grill marks appear. 
  5. Serve warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel – for a decadent treat!
